In 2015-2016, ABTS were involved in the manufacture and supply of a variety of Sand hopper assemblies to SWT Class 455 & 508 fleets.
This supply totalled approximately 270 units of Sand hopper assembly kits to these two fleets. The Sand hopper assemblies were manufactured utilising a combination of different materials including; Mild Steel, Stainless Steel, Aluminium, Silicone rubber and Glass.
ABTS manufactured and supplied the below items: –
Sand supply shoot
Sand feed assembly
Sand box filler assembly
Sand storage box
Sand Box Lid
Sand Box Cover
Sand hopper Filter
Connecting pipework
Fixing brackets
Kick strips
Base plates etc.
All items were manufactured and powder coated in-house at ABTS, utilising our laser cutter, press breaks, coded welders, and paint shop.
Delivery of ‘kits’ were completed via ABTS own transport fleet for safe and on time deliveries.
