London Southeastern Railway (LSER) Class 375 refresh

The Rolling stock refresh project for the class 375 trains currently operated by London Southeastern Railways (LSER), consists of 140 x 4 car units. The project started in April 2015 and is to be completed in 2018.

All refresh works are undertaken at ABTS’s factory in Milton Keynes. Collections and deliveries of all materials are being made to Bombardier Transportation in customised stillage’s via ABTS’s own transportation.

Working closely with our customer to meet their production and delivery requirements, ABTS agreed a schedule that requires ABTS to collect and deliver 5 days a week. This enables both parties to keep their production teams busy, minimising down-time and additional costs.

The components in which ABTS refurbish for this project include: –

Vestibule grab handles & Poles
Cab grab poles
Seat grab handles
Glass clamps
Glass retention clamps
Heater grills (large and small)
Waist rail grills
Chair profiles
Table legs

With the above refurbishment works, ABTS also manufactured and supplied brand new items to form a float/ spares kit. These items include:-

Vestibule grab handles
Seat Grab handles (moulding and casting)
Grab handles (various)
Cab grab poles
Glass clamps
Glass retention clamps

This additional part of the 375 project enabled ABTS to demonstrate not just its powder coating services, but also its manufacturing capabilities too.
